Objectives of the center
Kidney Research Center is in line with conducting research and technological activities in the field of nephrology and kidney transplantation in order to promote health and increase public awareness and establish educational and research relations with other research centers and educational departments of the university and production and industrial centers.
Kidney disease is one of the most common diseases in modern life. Increased prevalence of diabetes, weight gain and hypertension, and the use of various medications have renal complications. Changing lifestyle, consuming lots of salt and calories, the occurrence of continuous and unpredictable changes and changing the pattern of kidney diseases have created new needs in front of different communities. Kidney transplantation and related sciences have led to prevalence of up to 8% for chronic kidney failure in various communities. Therefore, recognizing kidney diseases and their timely prevention and treatment have high values in promoting community health. Therefore, the main goal of the Kidney Research Center of the Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is community support to reduce the incidence and prevalence of kidney disease and advance related sciences in the field of genetic research, epigenetics and kidney transplant immunology in the region and the world.
